The Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government of Edo State, Hon. Napoleon Agbawa has commended the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for touching the lives of his people and others through its free and qualitative healthcare services, and infrastructural development in the Niger Delta region.
Hon. Agbawa made the commendation during the flag-off of NDDC/Nelpan Korea free medical mission at the Ikhueniro Primary Health Centre built by NDDC.
“The free medical services rendered by NDDC have encouraged my people with health challenges to come out to take free treatment,” Hon Agbawa said. Adding, “you can see the teeming crowd being attended to by the medical team. NDDC is doing a good job by touching the lives our people through its free and qualitative healthcare services, and infrastructural development in the Niger Delta region.”
Giving a breakdown of over 4,200 indigenes of Ehor, Irhue, Urhuokuosa and 10 other communities in the LGA that benefitted from the free healthcare services, the Coordinator of Nelpan Korea, Mr. Humphrey Ugwunacho said the general outpatient department attended to 2,418 patients, while the surgical unit performed 51 operations.
The obstetrics and gynecological department attended to 196 cases. Dental unit treated 263 patients while over 643 patients with eye-related problems were attended to. 535 laboratory tests were carried out and others were treated for various ailments.
