The Niger Delta Development Commission has commissioned three unit of six classroom block building at Aduwawa in Ikpo-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
The Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr Christy Atako who commissioned the project called on the people to guard the project jealously and ensure that it is not vandalized.
Dr Atako reiterated that “education is the bedrock of any nation, therefore our children should be provided with the conducive teaching and learning environment that will enhance the intellectual, mental, physical, emotional and psychological development of the child. It is also the basis for the economic development of any nation”.
The NDDC Boss stated that NDDC is alive and committed to its responsibilities and is determined to make a difference in the Niger Delta region.
“This is a testimony of the Federal Government’s result to transform communities and provide facilities to enhance the living standard of the Niger Delta region in line with President Goodluck transformation agenda.”
Speaking at the occasion, the spokesman of the community, Chief Sunday Efionayi thanked the NDDC for the project.
“Before the construction of this ultra modern classroom blocks our children use to travel long distances to get to school. But today, it is not so, thanks to NDDC.” he said
