Ondo State Governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko has appreciated the zeal of the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Christy Atako for proper and timely completion of projects.
NDDC has a total of 587 projects in Ondo state out of which 317 are completed while 15 mega projects are ongoing.
Responding to a speech by the Acting Managing Director who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Akure, the Governor however urged the commission to intensify effort in completing the rest of the projects.
Mimiko advised that projects should always be awarded to qualified and competent contractors, assuring that his administration will always support the NDCC to actualise its mandate of developing the Niger Delta region.
“NDDC should partner with stakeholders for the sustainability of its projects” he said.
Earlier the NDDC Acting Managing Director commended the Governor for his support to the Commission adding “we actually came to Ondo State to appreciate you for your dynamism and your support to ensure that NDDC succeeds in Ondo State.”
Said Atako “our emphasis in NDDC now is to go to the field see things for ourselves, provide quality projects and debunk contractors gimmick.”
