The Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Christy Atako has called on contractors handling the construction of the NDDC prototype university hostels across the Niger delta to re-double their efforts to complete the projects for the benefit of students.
Dr Atako, who addressed the contractors at the NDDC corporate headquarters in Port Harcourt, commended them for attaining up to 95 per cent of job but charged them to brace up and complete them for commissioning within two months. She also called on contractors handling other projects to ensure speedy completion of their contracts.
“I have looked at the records and I am very excited about what you have done already. But if we must have value for what we have spent so far on these hostel projects, they must be completed and handed over to students facing dearth of accommodation within one or two months,” the NDDC boss said.
Mr. Maduka Nnah who spoke on behalf of the contractors, assured the Acting Managing Director/CEO that they would put in more efforts to complete the hostels. He thanked NDDC for fast-tracking the hostel projects.
