NDDC contractors that have achieved 70% in project execution have up to the end of March 2011 to deliver or face the wrath of the law, the Managing Director, Dr Christian Oboh has said.
Dr Oboh, who disclosed this while addressing NDDC contractors in Port Harcourt, also gave similar directive to those handling the Commission’s hostel projects in universities across the Niger Delta region.
“Those who work, we shall pay, I want you to deliver between now and March, I’m ready to pay you if only you will deliver, you must also be prepared to sign undertaking because if you don’t deliver, the law will come after you” he declared.
The NDDC Boss restated the commitment of his administration to fast track development in the region urging the contractors to immediately forward their work plan to his office.
He assured that the board was ready to encourage hard working contractors with more jobs and warned that the era of disappearing after payment was over on variation; Dr Oboh said “we cannot have a blanket review of the projects, because the challenges are different”.
He however frowned at the representation made by some of the contractors handling the hostel projects wondering why they were not physically present, “I must say I’m not satisfied with your level of representation, some of you sent your staff to represent you, this does not show any seriousness”.
