Mrs. Arenyeka gave the charge at her maiden meeting with Staff of the Commission, She said the era of seeing the Commission as a place where nothing works must be corrected henceforth, adding “the task of changing this erroneous impression rests squarely on all of us staff.”
She said staff must be alive to their responsibilities by being punctual and showing dedication and outmost commitment in the discharge of their duties. “Nobody saw the good things we were doing; they only saw the negative things, all that must change.” She stressed.Mrs. Arenyeka stated that NDDC has a mandate to intervene in the development of the region, pointing out that every staff has a stake in this regard if that assignment must be accomplished “we must ensure that this house does not collapse and that development can only thrive in a very peaceful work environment devoid of crises and rancour”
“Let us tell the next board that we are united and a disciplined organization. If you are a driver, drive well, if you are a manager, manage well and if you are a director, direct well.” she admonished staff.
Mrs. Arenyeka’s appointment follows the dissolution of the Larry Koinyan led board along with the Managing Director/CEO and the two Executive Directors. The Steve Oronsaya led panel constituted by the Presidency to look into the crises in the NDDC had among other things recommended for the dissolution of the board.
