Born 29th March,1963 in Kaltungo, Gombe State, he attended Nigeria Military School between 1979 and 1984 when he got the GCE Ordinary level. He studied at the Bauchi College of Arts and Science from 1984 to 1986 before proceeding to the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he studied Law between 1986 and 1989. He also has a Diploma in French Language.
After graduation he attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos from 1989 to 1990. He started legal practice as Associate Solicitor with G.T. Bello & Co. Legal Consultants. He also worked with Albarka Chamber, Kaduna as Senior Counsel. After a brief stint in private practice, he joined the defunct Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC) in 1995 and was Principal Legal Officer till 2001 when OMPADEC was dissolved and NDDC came into being. Between 2001 and 2006 he was Acting Head, Legal Services and Principal Manager, Legal Services in NDDC. In March 2006 he became Assistant Director, Legal Services and held that position till July 2009 when he was redeployed to the Due Process Unit (as it then was) as Head.
His present designation is Head, Procurement Unit. Kaltungo, as he fondly called is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association and International Institute of Arbitration.
Married with four children, his hobbies are writing, music, travelling and reading.
